With tensions between the West and Russia reaching fever pitch over the situation in Ukraine I find myself once again in a state of stupefaction and disbelief that America's primary symbol of patriotism and national interest, is the rainbow flag. The good ole Stars and Stripes, like the values and ideals it represents, has been on the losing side of a war for some time, and each new geopolitical conflagration reveals the increasing dominance of the LGBT Globohomo flag over the original.
The tragic irony of using the representation of dildos and social justice as your primary banner is that America is the land of capitalism, and capitalism means advertising and branding, and nobody did branding better than America in its prime. Worse still is that the content of the brand itself has changed to reflect ''wokeness'' and now the internet guffaws at diversity hire generals and transsexual military strategists, though people are cautious because ''wokeness'' also represents hate-speech laws, censorship, ostracism, indoctrinating children, BLM, anti-whiteness, medical tyranny, arrogance, corporations, elites and stupidity.
And yet, the nation which gave the world Disney, Levi's jeans, Coca-Cola, Star Wars and the Golden Arches of McDonald's now proudly wraps itself in the symbol of anti-civilization, of filth, lies and decay.
Leaving aside the ideology and viewing the situation purely in terms of branding, the rainbow flag is a monumental failure, so much so that many Westerners take the side of the Taliban over their own forces(!)
But it wasn't always like this. Indeed, ''Brand America'' was quite possibly the most successful exercise in public relations ever undertaken.
America's stint of global predominance excelled in both hard and soft power. In my opinion the woke agenda and the rainbow flag is tantamount to abolishing decades of skilfully accumulated soft power which, in essence, was gradually turning everyone on Earth into Americans.
Brand America engulfed, saturated and drowned European nations after World War II. Teenage girls in Italy would sip their Pepsi and eat their Big Macs in their Nike sports shoes just like English girls would. The allure of Americanism was freedom and liberty, gradually, gently, gnawing away at the traditional order and foundations of European homelands. In a song which drips with German resentment Rammstein sang in Amerika:
We're all living in America
America, America
We're all living in America
Coca Cola, sometimes war
We're all living in America
America, America
America was cool, America was the coolest. To be opposed to America was also to become an enemy of Marty Mcfly and Indiana Jones, or John Wayne and Norm from Cheers. America was a place where a down on his luck schlub like Rocky Balboa could become champ of the world through self-belief and hard work. The American Dream was sprinkled into American capitalism like pixie dust with each product's advertising and packaging offering a little piece of the magic. We could all partake in the American Dream by buying American.
It may not be a popular thing to say in reactionary circles these days but the fact is, America's ideals appealed to vast swathes of the planet. Nobody from the West was trying to get into the USSR, and meantime a Saigon whorehouse had Jimi Hendrix playing in the background.
The formula was simple and straightforward: freedom, individualism and liberty topped off with the promise of a better tomorrow automatically framed America as a force for good and something to be aspired to rather than feared. Fear belonged with the ideologues, the religious zealots and the commies as they searched for ways to prevent their own people leaving or MTV entering.
The Stars and Stripes symbolized perfectly the American brand being exported around the world, like an umbrella under which all other brands and cultural tropes clustered. And now this mightiest of subversive forces is being casually tossed aside to be replaced by what amounts to its antithesis.
As noted above, the LGBT rainbow flag does not represent liberty but speech codes and ideological dogma. Choice is replaced with coercion, freedom with threats and intimidation, innocence and idealism with gender ''realignment'' surgery for children, and the attractive with the grotesque.
There is no organic world market for black victim-hood narratives any more than there is for synthetic meat but the American regime is determined to force-feed both to the world on a daily basis.
Foreigners look askance at this transformation of America's brand as they would at an aggressive retard kid holding a meat-cleaver. We all know why China shrinks the blacks on Hollywood movie posters and Western dissidents dealing with no-fly lists and closed bank accounts understand a new commonality with the world's people as the full scale of the horror becomes apparent: the ''shining city on the hill'' is no longer a force for good but something negative to be endured like gout.
It seems strangely fitting that one of America's last great cultural exports was the TV adaptation of George RR Martin's Game of Thrones. Like America's tenure as world hegemon the series starts off brilliantly but descends into dumb cliche and eventual madness.
America as a woke imperialist superpower is akin to the dead dragon being hauled out of the frozen lake and turned into a zombie. Adorned in the garb of its new rainbow attire Brand America seems now to be doomed to stalk the land as an affront to all that is natural, good and holy.
This grand tragedy is the result of decades of internal deconstruction within America and the west generally, and it is to this we shall be turning very soon...
Ironic that the First Amendment is what sealed America's fate. By choosing to deliberately leave open their foundational values to critique, the undermining of everything they built was preordained. Protected by the legal system, every last value was deliberately chewed up and inverted. All that was good is now evil, and everything that was evil is now good. That all the fruit from this poisoned tree is toxic is no surprise.
“Foreigners look askance at this transformation of America's brand as they would at an aggressive retard kid holding a meat-cleaver.”
This made me laugh. Greg Johnson said something similar in this past weekend’s stream on Schmitt. Instead of the “Great Satan” it would be more accurate to describe Globohomo America as the Great Retard.
