Morgoth if you're interested in a modern movie made for men, by men, I'd recommend "Brawl in Cell Block 99." Absolutely fantastic action / drama starring Vince Vaughn as a low level guy who works for a drug dealer. I don't want to give too much of it away.
One difference that I noticed in movies made for men vs women is that in our movies there tends to be closure, while movies for women focus way more on the build up. In fact there's rarely any closure or finality at all. For men, we don't necessarily need justice (though it's nice) we just need some actual material progress and some finality.
I know you've said that classic movies doesn't get much engagement, so I just want to say that I enjoy these a lot, for what it's worth
