Morgoth & Endeavour's Classic Movies #15: Wag The Dog
Taking a look at the eerily prescient 1997 ''comedy'' in which the deep-state and a Hollywood mogul create a fictional war to solve a political crisis.
Good review! The audience for “Wag the dog” is the same audience that enjoyed “The West Wing”. The West Wing was Hollywood’s dream 90’s Presidency, but it portrayed enough reality (barely) to reflect that politics and public policy is about making tough choices. There was even an episode on easing monetary policy to boost consumption! I don’t think either could be remade today because it would be heresy to upset the Left’s utopian dreamworld.
