This is a very interesting take on a movie which I also reluctantly watched many years ago. I hate women’s movies in general and living in an all male household have not watched many since my eldest and only daughter left home nearly 20 years ago. It is well acted and better than I expected but yes, the ending and final message were disappointing. Why was Prince Charming still waiting for her at the end? He should’ve been off with a less demanding, more domestic type.

I am often skeptical of Brett Weinstein and Heather Heyerling, people who are reluctant conservatives while still flashing their liberal credentials, ( I didn’t leave liberalism, liberalism left me) but they are knowledgeable about “our science” and the way it has been co-opted. She had a brilliant metaphor about feminism as a train headed for a certain station, say equal opportunities for women, which then blew through the station and into the stratosphere giving us the totally unrealistic girl boss and leaving biological womanhood in the dust.

Feminism that doesn’t center and protect mothers and children and the relationship of feminine biology to the feminine psyche isn’t feminism. It’s careerism, or Ayn Rand shark tank capitalism, but it ignores what women are.

It’s funny that it was supposed to be a trope that women had to strip themselves of all femininity, motherliness, the desire for husband and children, etc. to succeed in a “man’s world”, and that needed to be corrected, but here we are in a world where women willingly give all that up to drudge for some company for which they are an interchangeable worker unit. Now there are so few babies around that a girl or woman may have never held one and had the chance for her heart to yearn after one of her own. They don’t miss what they have never seen. The modern woman, drugged up to the eyeballs, fed a steady diet of rage against the patriarchy, suppressing her biological functions, is scarcely a woman at all.

And the women like this, that I encounter in my daily life, are miserable.

Key word Weinstein and Heyerling are Jewish. That’s your answer. Always know your Enemy!

She isn’t actually, and they do both know a lot more about science than I do, so I learn a lot by listening. I only find the need so many people have to establish their liberal, enlightenment credentials while admitting to be Trump i.e. sanity, supporters, tiresome.

If shrinks could be honest, it would be nice to read their take on the role childlessness plays in feminine psychopathology. No doubt much of the mass insanity can be attributed to it.

But they can’t be honest. There are so many psychopathologies out there that are obvious and cannot be named let alone studied that it becomes obvious how unscientific and propagandized our world has become.

It's a hard reality for some when you come to the realisation you were never edgy or different, just stuck on a lengthy side quest, sooner or later though you are brought back to the main one.

That's actually a pretty good way to describe it... reminded me how every one of my new, 'different' Skyrim playthroughs would invariably end up lol

I was at university and my girlfriend at the time showed me this film on dvd in 2009. I enjoyed the film but in subsequent years often return to it in my mind as it being a clear image of the life that these women then around 20 years of age should expect: a professional office job in an industry they liked (fashion); a handsome and loyal boyfriend working in a profession they like (cooking); homosexual men would be initially catty but would prove to be be caring and supportive mentors, rather than them being individuals, sometimes decent, sometimes sinister, and oftentimes indifferent toward women at best; and that their female workmates/competition may not ultimately become their friends but would at least hold a grudging respect for them.

I feel this film more than any other formed the image in those young women's minds of what work is actually like and helped convince them to disparage or relegate everything else in their lives. I think it was a very effective piece of propaganda. Also, it's humorous to think that the more 'pure' profession the heroine chooses over fashion is journalism! Note too that this film came out shortly before the GFC; presumably that whole 'lifestyle', if it ever really existed, came crashing down or at least became far more cut-throat after that calamity.

"...factors beyond my control"- brings to mind the author strapped down, clockwork-orange style and forced to watch (and celebrate) 'The Devil Wears Prada'- maybe this will be all our fates if the dissidents lose?

Genius, man. I won't pry into the extraordinary circumstances that forced you to sit through the film but only can imagine that itself is a great tale. I also had avoided the film for similar reasons, but the linked clip is a reminder of what a fantastic actor Streep is. Hideous person, obviously, but at the top of her game here.

"The choices made available in the film are either soul-crushing, meaningless tedium, or the same with less intensity."

Elite theory posits those options, with even the most intelligent one being hideous, are anything but a choice. Whether discounted Cerulean sweaters or Third World savages packed into our neighborhoods, our agency is shockingly limited.

Fantastiskt essay as always Morgoth!

The names at the beginning seems to have had some unspoken triple-parenthesis around them. Nothing you wouldn't expect from New York, Soddom of America.

Being an older bloke, I haven’t seen it.

There’s a particularly arch bromance comedy call “I Love You Man” in which one of the characters mentions The Devil Wears Prada to the feminised and desperately short of male friends to invite to his wedding (that’s the whole film) lead character. He replies “Oh, I love that film”.

That’s was enough of a review for me.

To me all our Beautiful White Women (None White Women who are disgusting Vermin Creatures that should culled from my POV) unless they Are Open or Covert Race traitors don’t tend to irritate or bother me than I was in my Youth.

I believe that all young white Men from the moment they turn 16 should be taught by their own Fathers and Mothers the Natural Reality of Women both Challenging and Fufilling that they will serve in their own Lives. But young men should be taught the reality of being a Man which means being soul power decision maker that should be the responsible guardian/protecter/manager of his future wife and Children. If young men were taught to be content with this Life important reality their frustrations especially with modern women would ease. However feminism which is a 20th century bioJewish weapon made against our Race should be also warned to our young male generation to spot the signs of which individual women have been completely corrupted by it to the point genetically eliminate them from there sexual lives and pick out ones who posses small indoctrination fraction of the ideology and those who are thankfully immune.

As a young Man of 28, women no longer remain a concern or back bending challenge for me unlike when I was in my early 20s when I was working out their true nature. Had learned the knowledge I have now at the age 16, my success with all women would been a complete success. This is what separates the successful popular lads than the loser reject men who unfortunately build up resentment against women which women sense before they even look at you in the face.
