For me, the overarching theme of The Untouchables (which Morgoth and Endeavour both mentioned) was that there are good and honest men in government that can be trusted to do what is right and just.
Does anyone, today, believe that Keir Starmer or Joe Biden is an honest and just person?
Western society is in crisis because we have lost the values on honor and honesty. Today, we live in a society that values the quick buck and shallow celebrity. This is why civilization is collapsing. We have, as a society, lost our moral compass.
As always, thank you Morgoth and Endeavour for another thought provoking video.
Totally relate to your dope story. Very similar experience. I stayed away from that scene growing up (thank God!) but anecdotally the heavy users I knew never recovered. I know one them can't work now due to anxiety attacks. Very sad.
Great stream, esp the bit about immigrant crime gangs taking over American. Looking forward to the 40th CM episode. 👍🏼
As the son of Irish emigrants one from Ulster I am glad Sean Connery did not put on an accent for the role. I think American audiences in the 80’s hardly noticed. I saw the movie in its origin theatrical run and enjoyed it. Sean Connery is in a forgotten but decent film called the Molly Maguires playing an Irish man with his native accent and is very plausible. Cheers.

I remember watching "The Rock" as a kid and he's fighting someone, who pushes Sean and says some like, "I hate the English, my dad was one."
I was sitting thinking, "Come one Sean, knock him out, turn to the camera and say: I'm acccshhhhuuullyy Scoootissshhhhh." But it never happened.
Hi Morgoth, missed a month of subscriotion there as money was a bit tight, but I'm back and just wanted to say "thanks" for reading out my question.
P.S. I know I'm biased, but I think the Glaswegian sense of humour is the best.
Wow, such a long time since I’ve seen this, rewatch on the cards!
