Nice to look back through these, reminds me of other movies I wouldn’t have ordinarily discovered. I’ll often watch a film for the first time when you review it and then look for more with the same actors if they’re good, which they usually are. After Planet of the Apes I found The Wreck of the Mary Deare (1959) with Charlatan Heston, worth a watch if you haven’t seen.
Thanks to you and Endeavour, here’s to the next 40!
I have enjoyed most of these. But my heart yearns for the sword of my fathers. No other words please wild men. Thanks for all the great work. This week is the Thanksgiving holiday in the USA and I will give thanks for you and Endeavour’s content. Cheers
As fate would have it, I saw a special screening of 2001 (with the proper lighting and sound) at an art theater the day before you and Endeavour reviewed it. It was incredible. The one comment during the stream that really stuck with me was something you said about 2001 being about to depict the vastness, darkness, and emptiness of outerspace. That was what I came away with walking out of the cinema and looking up into the night sky that evening.
Absolutely, the men who travel into outerspace are incredibly brave.

These have all been great
Enjoyed Beau's contributions on the background history.
