Prudentialist joins me to discuss the prospects of the Tech-Bro/Trump alliance, cutting back the managerial state and whether it is possible for regime culture creators to create anything optimistic.
I made this comment on another Substack article--just a few days after Trump was re-elected. I think it is applicable to this conversation, and so I would like to re-post it here.

Yes, Trump's election has bought us time. I am heartend to see that so many people online (and off) recognize this situation. Will Trump turn things around? He will help. It will be up to us and others like us to forge a new way forward.
I still believe that new countries will be formed as Western countries continue to rapidly decay and eventually collapse under the weight of de facto open borders. Tech titans like Peter Thiel have explored options like creating new countries for over a decade. That some of the smartest and richest men in the room recognize what is happening is important.
What is coming will be brtual. There is no escaping that. Learn a trade, build up social networks (make true friends), gather resources, and most importantly, develop the proper mindset.
The concerns that you voiced around 35 minutes are extremely interesting and important. I would agree with your observations that the conversation is being manipulated in an inorganic way. Suddenly it seems as if everyone has moved several degrees to the right, and people are coming out of the woodwork in droves as it is now acceptable to hold opinions that were common sense 20 years ago and have been outlawed for the past 10. It is okay to say that Obama was a mediocre president for example, or that a man cannot become a woman or compete in women’s sports. The support for getting rid of wokeness, DEI, illegal immigration, transing children, etc. is real. What is not real is this blending of classical liberalism with the emerging right. You get the feeling that it is being steered and that the direction will be moderated by audience share in a subtle way.
The result will be whatever the powerful want it to be. It is a respite of sorts, a pause for those of us who feared the collapse of the bill of rights under another democratic administration, feared that the US would follow England in becoming a totalitarian dictatorship within a few years. I hope it is a respite for you and for Europe as well, as more people realize they are not alone in wanting their sovereign country back. Perhaps we could export something more wholesome than the rainbow flag and abortion on demand. There are many positive things going on, but the middle class is not making a comeback and there are mechanisms of control we do not understand.
Yes, i've noticed it online and in the media, too. They are trying to regain control and reshape the narrative.
I don't think it will work anymore. Actually, I know it won't.
With mass immigration and lawlessness having already savagely degraded life in the West, people can no longer be convinced things are going well when all they need do is only look out their window and see disorder in the streets.
These people are not omnipotent. They have overplayed their hand, made a huge mess, and now things are spinning out of control.
Acknowledging the mess will have to be the first step in making any improvement. We are seeing some of that now, I hope it will be enough. A lot depends on whether the tech bros are motivated, even slightly, by a love of country, respect for the middle and working classes, a desire to move the needle back to a time when self control was a positive trait, not a pathology. These things are part of the meritocracy they need to rebuild to accomplish their ends.
Like it or not, and I emphatically do not, the outcome does depend on the levers of power in the hands of the elites. We can make noise, bring the narrative into question, and upset the applecart as in this election, but we can’t make sweeping changes without their help.
A strange example of how incredible the lies the government tells have become is this story of thousands of drones over New Jersey. If the government really doesn’t know what they are it is a foreign invasion and makes our surveillance methods look absurdly lame. We would be in a state of emergency. Everyone knows they are lying when they say they don’t know what they are, so it is a government psy-op….but why?
Regarding our talking points ending up on shite like triggernometry or being aired by the snake Piers Morgan is part of the process of derailment.
Hijacking first, leading onto hybridisation.
Rupert Lowe reform MP is a current example of this.
Multiple tweets every day about issues that we have been calling out for years. Rile people up with red meat talking points, pretending to take action to counter said problems, knowing full well it will come to nothing meaningful or paradigm changing. He will craft that he has made some headway, siting a future data release or that he has obtained some sort of concession or acknowledgement, that ultimately will only limit the scope or ability to actually tackle the issue at hand.
As far as I can tell, Reform really means realignment. Nothing new to see here.
The old adage “same shop, different front” is setting off too many alarm bells in my head with these bastards.
Great episode this, your take on Blood Meridian (and concerns) are the same as mine. I do highly recommend this deep dive https://verybadwizards.com/episode/episode-268-blood-meridian-part-1 I also think the book explains everything we have, it is simply built on violence and blood, we just pretend we are civilized with our neckties and cappuccinos, but in reality, we are tooth and claw-like all of nature, it's such a fucking great book, it took me about three starts to eventually read it, I think it is a masterpiece.

Thank you.
This was a good listen.

Would you believe that I was on episode 7 of Penguin before listening to this? 😂 Never mind, it's shite anyway. Happy Christmas pal 👍

Oh I shall listen to this tomorrow.
I'm still fascinated by the book; it weighs heavy on my mind, unlike any other book I've read in many years.
