Yes, I think you’re right. They must look at the old Scotland as an anachronistic, dying relic that needs to be put to rest. There’s old black and white footage of the last Tasmanian tiger, an indigenous Australian thylacine, which died in captivity in a Tasmanian zoo in 1936. It’s as if the poor creature, the ’endling’ of an ancient species that can be traced back to 1.77 million years’ ago, knew it was doomed. There was no place for it in the world of the on-lookers. Another observation, if I may. It is often lamented in our circles that everyone is tribal, except white people. I understand the sentiment but, on further reflection, I think that white people ARE tribal but they tribe-up along socio-economic and political lines, e.g., liberal v conservative, labour v tory, middle class v working class, Catholic v Protestant etc. Those are the fault lines that I grew up with and which shaped my own political worldview as a young man.
But, again in my opinion, these fissures are the result of being racially homogenous for thousands of years. Race has never been an issue for white people, merely things like status, money or religion. The great racial reckoning against whitey has no provenance, being very recent, historically speaking. And it's only been turbo-charged since 2020.
